Tetsuya Kuroko (黒子 テツヤ Kuroko Tetsuya) is the main protagonist of the manga, Kuroko no Basuke.

Kuroko has a deadpan and straight forward personality. He is very hard working and always tries to satisfy the needs of the team above his own.

Murasakibara atsushi Akashi was the one who first encouraged Kuroko to awaken his ability in passing. Thanks to Aomine's coaching later on, Kuroko also develops some shooting skill, making his own shooting style called "Phantom Shot" where the ball disappears. He countered it and stole the ball by closing his eyes, making Kagami's misdirection ineffective. He makes it onto the Seirin regulars as a result and gains an ounce of Kagami's respect in the process.

He is quite gloomy and unnoticeable, a trait that goes well with his misdirection.
