Seagate personal cloud solid red light
The power LED light is a solid red on my cloud
Ray11
This morning when I got up I noticed the power LED light was a constant red (not flashing).
I can’t find anything wrong, I can log onto the system just fine. I did a test both on system and hard drives and both tests passed.
I have the 12 TB system using RAID 1, when I logon to the system it says I have gig left

Are you still able to mount the shares?

What My Cloud model do you have? For the single bay/single drive My Cloud models (the subject of this subforum) a red LED usually indicates a problem with the drive (like overheating) or the Ethernet cable not being connected.
You may want to check the user manual for your My Cloud model to see if the solid red front LED means something specific.

Well that’s what I thought. But when I log on everything seems to be fine, it says I have gigs left
when I turned in last night everything was fine.
All lights were blue. I have nothing new on my system so nothing was added when I got up just like I said, all of a sudden now I have a red light its not flashing. I just have a red light.
The model number that I have is as follows.

You may want to read through and search through the dedicated EX2 subforum using the forum search, magnifying glass icon upper right. Its possible that subforum may hold more information or have users who are more knowledgeable about the EX2 than this subforum.

If I recall correctly, it’ll start alerting that when you have less than 5% space remaining.
5% of 6TB is GB.
If you clear the alert, does the LED go back to normal?
Ray18
Thanks Tony I did not know about the 5%. I’ll see what I can delete and see if that fixes the error.

Router Status : Confirm that your router is powered on and functioning. The problem is I bought it to protect my important files. If that’s the case maybe I have to get another one a bigger one to make a bigger 12 TB

Yeah, quite a few people have complained about the overly anxious warning about space, particularly on the very large units.
When they started at 1TB, 5% made more sense.
But not 6TB or 12TB or 16TB!
You can always just ignore the error if you’re certain you’re not going to completely fill the drive. If you wind up with less than, say, 10GB, the system can fail if it runs out of space for its own needs.
Ray
Yeah that’s probably what I’m going to do for now is ignore it.
It Says I have gig left and I’ll probably look into purchasing a second one.
