Too Faced launched as a result of founder Jerrod Blandino's experience working at an Estée Lauder makeup counter at a Saks Fifth Avenue store located at South Coast Plaza mall, in Costa Mesa, California.[1] Blandino explained the term Too Faced was coined as a phrase for clients and customers who would “come in and completely melt down” if the store was out of stock of a sought-after cosmetic product: “we’d be like, be careful, this one is too faced.”[2]

Estée Lauder Companies announced the departure of Blandino and co-founder Jeremy Johnson from the company after 24 years in May , with Blandino and Johnson officially resigning from their roles on June 30, Tara Simon, who had previously held the role of Senior VP & Global General Manager at the company, was promoted to the role of Global Brand President on July 1, [3]
